Quick Verdict
Best overall bat grip – easy choice. If you’re re-gripping a bat, don’t overthink it – get Lizard Skins.
Lizard Skins are the best bat grips out there. If I’m re-gripping a bat, I’m not looking anywhere else. They have an elite tacky feel that gives you more control. They are real good at providing grip, but they don’t last too long.
Thickness Options
They come in three thicknesses:
- 0.5mm – thinner handle, more bat feel
- 1.1mm – standard feel (most players)
- 1.8mm – thicker grip, more cushion
If you’re not sure, go 1.1mm.
Price
$15-$20 – worth it
Clearcut Breakdown
Graded using the Clearcut Scale
Grip – Top Tier
Durability – Mid
Best For
- Players who want maximum feel and control
- Anyone re-gripping a bat
Not For
- Players who prefer thick, cushioned grips
- Players who don’t want to install their own grip
- Players wanting a grip that last the whole season
Downside
They can be a little tricky to apply the first time. Even if you mess it up slightly, it still works great.
The lifespan isn’t as long as it should be. If you swing everyday expect these grips to last a little less than a month before it deteriorates.
Secret Hack
These grips are long, especially on shorter bats. Cut it in half when you open it – you can get two grips out of one. Save the second half or use it on another bat.
Final Verdict
If you are re-gripping a bat, this is the easiest upgrade you can make.
Lizard Skin is a Buy
There’s a reason these are everywhere in pro ball.
